  • Hello world!

Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing!

  • Keeping old URLs

For /blog/*, the below rule on .htaccess works:

    RewriteRule ^blog/(.*)$ $1 [R,L]

  • Some themes do not seem fully compatible with WPML – trhey do not recognize the folder method

Some of the fancies themes that we installed, evolve, Customizr among others, act up weird when WPML gives /en/ for neglish and /ko/ for Korean. When going to the root folder, WordPress give zero output.

BUT in some sites that were somehow set up differently, the english is set up as / isntead of /en/ and it works.

We may need to contact WPML support for help, or just use another theme.

  • Entire WordPress network being down every 4-8 hours

The network started being unstable and was down every 4-8 hours. I think it’s because I made the CHMOD for the entire wordpress folder different from the default. Turns out CHMOD was not the problem, it was CHOWN. I am concerned that the overly expansive CHMOD may have compromised files in the WordPress installation.

I re-downloaded and untarred WordPress, CHOWN’ed the whole WordPress -RF to www-data (/var/www/aigohost.org/public_html/ CHOWN -Rf www-data wordpress) and CHMOD wp-content to 755. Hope this fixed it. But there could be othe issues, eg is the plugins or themes folder safe?

There have been major changes in 2006 and 2007, so check through the versions to find missing text.

  • Request your plugin/theme here

One new aspect about Multisite WordPress installations is that themes and plugins are handled centrally. Regular admins can only use plugins and themes that have already been installed. NAKASEC and affiliate staff will be “super admins”, meaning they have direct access to the installation page, but if you are paying to sublease a portion of the server, you will likely not have access to this page. Please put the plugin request as a comment here, with the name of the plugin/theme and a link to the plugin/theme page on WordPress.org (or elsewhere) and we will process the request as quickly as possible.
